What starts out as an elaborate bet uncovers the true meaning of love for a man who thinks the concept of marriage is obsolete and a woman who dreams of "happily ever after."

Jack wants to prove that the concept of marriage is obsolete. Samantha wants to prove that the story-book marriage is a realistic dream. The two reluctantly agree to a bet in which they'll be legally married for 30 days. For the next month, the couple must deal with the challenges that face those locked in matrimony. In the process, Jack falls in love, but Samantha soon realizes that he may have been right all along. In the end, the two will discover the truth about love from the most unlikely and opposing sources: each other.
